D.P. CARLSON
D.P. (Dave) CARLSON of Film Foetus, Inc. is an award winning independent filmmaker who's career started in Chicago in 1988. Carlson's work as a producer/director has been screened nationwide at film festivals, art houses, universities, and on television.
His early independent work includes directing several music video programs within the Chicago Blues scene and for iconic WORD JAZZ artist Ken Nordine. He has helped lens a documentary portrait of the Dalai Lama and created the critically acclaimed documentary feature "Chicago Filmmakers on the Chicago River".
In 1999, Carlson received the Panavision sponsored Founders Award given to the Most Promising Midwest Filmmaker, and in 2001 the Gene Siskel Film Center presented a retrospective of his work for the Starring Chicago film series. Carlson’s recent films have focused on the creative processes of Adrian Belew and The Bears,

His corporate & broadcast work includes directing documentaries for a variety of clients: Warner Bros Home Video, Walgreen Co, MOJO, IN-HD, CSTV, and FoxSportsNet. He has been a cameraman on specials for Discovery Channel, PBS, MSNBC, American Movie Classics, BET, The Learning Channel and National Geographic Television. In addition, he has shot Bravo Profiles for Billy Bob Thornton and Rod Steiger.
